Still, you could be the hapless victim like one Rosa Vargas of Queens, NY, who found out, much to her dismay, that she was actually married to two men, one from Mexico, and one from Ecuador.

And to make it even worse, she was filing for marriage with the city clerk only to be denied after finding out. That's not something you want to have to break to your fiance. Of course, you can just go to another district and file there, because there wouldn't be similar records anywhere else. The couple got married (even though she was legally married to two other men. One from Mexico, and the other from Ecuador. Just wanted to repeat that one more time.).

The story didn't stop there, though, as Vargas received divorce papers five years later from the Ecuadorian husband she never met. It was later found out that Vargas had lost her birth certificate a decade and a half ago, and within that time, her information was utilized TWICE — by two different women. Probably as a way to scam for immigration and allow those women into the U.S.

The sad thing is while Vargas eventually was able to get those fake marriages removed legally, she has since discovered that she's, in fact, married to a third man in Long Island. At least it's nowhere near Mexico or Ecuador.

A reputable credit counselor will charge a REASONABLE fee. Not anything that'll break your bank, really. So be sure to ask the ultimate question: "how much do you charge?" Don't mince words and get to the nitty gritty. Then do comparisons with multiple other credit counselors you've consulted, and see which one might be the best fit for you.

Finn, the Stormtrooper: Your Latest Victim of #IDTheft

Have you seen the Star Wars film? Good. Then you'd know how much it stinks to have the stigma of a stormtrooper and not want it. That's what identity theft does. It makes you out to be what you really don't want to be, just like one Simon Bunce in England who found out that he was going to get arrested for child pornography.

Something didn't add up at all. Bunce never took child porn pictures. And, yet, there was actual 'proof' about it. The evidence was enough for him to lose his job and face a family about to disown him. Life was about to crumble — until Bunce did some investigating of his own to find out that his credit card info was stolen and then utilized by someone from Indonesia to purchase porn from an American website. And all of this happened right from under his nose.

The proof he had discovered was so irrefutable that he even then discovered that he had an alibi all along during the time the porn was purchased: the man was actually in a restaurant in London!

Sadly, Bunce had to go through tons of scrutiny before finally reconciling with authorities and with his family. The poor man now swears not to ever use those evil credit cards.

We have to hand it to #Bush (Not W., but H.W.) — the guy knew how to argue a point, and he made good on it with this particular pardon: Casper Weinberger, the former Secretary of Defense, and five other individuals. All together, they were integral in the entire Iran-Contra affair, but here's the thing:

Those individuals were crucial to the comprehensive history of governmental service, and the fact that they all had an 'opinion' regarding the issue with Iran, Bush thought it prudent to make it a political matter versus a criminal matter. Pardon executed. President Bush, well played.
